David A. LaGue

David A. LaGue, age 52, of Vancleave, Mississippi, formerly of Naytahwaush, Minnesota, passed away July 24, 2012. Dave was born on July 22, 1960 in Lakehurst, New Jersey, the 4th son of Theodore and Jeanette (LaVoy) LaGue. As a young boy, Dave’s parents settled in Naytahwaush, where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Mahnomen High School and furthered his education at Lakewood Community College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dave entered the United States Navy and proudly served for six years. He was united in marriage to Patricia Bragg and they made their home in Vancleave. The remainder of his professional career was supporting and serving the United States Navy as a contractor to the Government and as a Civil Service Employee. Dave loved the beach and his hobbies included shooting pool, fishing with his dad and brothers, listening to music and camping. He was an avid sports fan and a star athlete in high school, where he still holds a pole vaulting record. He was very patriotic, loved his country and was very proud of his and his families combined 72 years of military service. He was a loving, kind man and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bragg LaGue, Vancleave; his father, Ted LaGue, Naytahwaush; four brothers: Gerald (Melissa) LaGue, Palm Bay, Florida, Ted Jr. (Lois) LaGue, Sabattus, Maine, James LaGue, Orange Park, Florida, Greg (Sandy) LaGue, Dent, Minnesota; grandmother, Gerda LaVoy, Naytahwaush, sisters-in-law, Kim Bragg and Terrie Gill; brothers-in-law, Barry Bragg and Matt Gill; mother-in-law, Martha Bragg; nieces: Kelly LaGue, Amy LaGue (Jordan), Matison Gill, Shelby Bragg; nephews: Matt LaGue, Greg LaGue (Sarah), Wade LaGue, Jake LaGue (Samantha), Garrick LaGue, Ryan Gill and Hunter Bragg; and many aunts and uncles. Dave is preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette M. LaGue. Memorial Mass will be held Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11 am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Naytahwaush, Minnesota. Time of gathering will be held Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 3-5 pm with a prayer service at 4:30 pm at the Anderson~Mattson Funeral Home in Mahnomen, Minnesota. Inurnment will be in the St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Naytahwaush, Minnesota.
