Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Love of Christ Lutheran Church in Saint Cloud for Patricia “Pat” A. Mannie, age 62, who passed away Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Thomas Wright, Pastor of Abounding Joy Lutheran Church in Sartell, will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen, with a FUNERAL SERVICE beginning at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Mahnomen. Patricia A. Mannie was born Jan. 16, 1951 to Richard and Myrtle (Brodsho) McCollum in Mahnomen, where she attended school, graduating in 1969. She attended Moorhead State University and worked for a short time in Minneapolis where she met her future husband. She married Albert James “AJ” Mannie on Feb. 24, 1973. They moved to Norfolk, Virginia where AJ was stationed in the Navy. Pat attended and graduated from Old Dominion University and their son, Mason was born while they lived in Norfolk. They then lived in Aurora, CO where Brandon was born. They divorced, but still remained friends. Pat moved to Thief River Falls, MN with her boys and continued her career in Dental Hygiene and insurance sales. She moved to the Sartell area in 1990 and worked as a Dental Hygienist and later as an instructor at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. She was a dedicated member of Abounding Joy Lutheran Church in Sartell where she was involved in Bible Study and was very active in the church community. Pat was also a member of the “Red Hatters”, Women of Today and the Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254 Auxiliary. She enjoyed scrapbooking, crafts, volunteering and everything about Christmas. Pat loved to travel (especially to Branson, MO) which she visited with family and friends. She also enjoyed many vacations at resorts and on cruises with her children and her very special grandson, Jonah. Pat was a private person, but was very friendly and enjoyed sharing her opinions in a good conversation. She was quite independent and very organized in all aspects of her life. Living her faith was important to her and Pat was very empathetic to all those in need. Her quick laugh and excellent sense of humor added fun to every gathering. She was a patriotic person who loved her country and her family was the center of her life. Survivors include her sons, Mason (Alison) of Fargo and Brandon (Megan) of Rosemount; grandchildren, Jonah and Micaiah; and sisters and brothers, Darlene (Vernon) Benson of Lakeland, FL, Doreen (Orville) Turner of Waubun, Myron (Sylvia) McCollum of Bejou, and David (Judy) McCollum of Mahnomen.
